    Dear Brianna,

Don’t let your mother decide what you want to do with your life. Just because she puts your dream down, is no reason not to go for YOUR dream. Sure, she’s your mother, you trust her, but don’t. The reality is, and I am speaking from experience, your mother may have her own adgenda.

My experience was I wanted to be a model when I was in my preteens and all I got from my mother was, “Oh you will only be treated like a piece a meat”!, Then when I went to jr. college and got accepted to the University of Arizona (I was living in Illinois at that time), to get a degree in Archeology and Anthropology, all I got from my mother then was: “Oh the books are way too heavy for you to carry!” To find out, my parents didn’t have the money to pay for “my” education to a 4 year college so they paid for an 8 week course to train me to be a Travel Agent. Yet, my mother had enough money to go to college at the same time I was going to jr. college so she attained “her dream” and got a bachelors degree in psycology. While all I got was a certification as a travel agent. Why did she want me to be a travel agent? Because she wanted to use my travel benefits to travel (another one of her dreams she wanted to attain).

So I tell you this from experience, don’t let her trash your dreams! If it is because of money that your parents cannot afford to help pay for your education to become a doctor, then you do everything you can, to search out the means to get that education. Go for scholarships, loans, grants, etc. Doctors are in great demand. If you must take it in steps and become a nurse (which is also a fine profession) first and work you way to continuing your education to become the doctor you want to be, then do it that way. Never give up! Never surrender! Go for your dream!!!!!! I don’t care if she is your mother. She is sooooo wrong to tell you that you will never become a doctor! So very wrong! It makes me angry to see parents trash a dream of a bright star ready to take off and glow! If you let your mother control you like this, you will regret that you did not do everything you could have to attain your dream. You also may find along the way that being a doctor is not what you want because you stumbled onto something else along the way. That’s fine too because that is your choice, not your mothers. If it you want it badly enough, you can attain any goal you set your mind to do. But let it be YOUR choice and no one elses. Go for it! Enjoy “YOUR” life! Good Luck!

I want you to remember this quote for the rest of your life and live your life by it….The only one responsible for how your life turns out is you my dear, I am a mother and I would never ever break my child’s spirit !! Your reach for your dreams and you believe in yourself or no one else will … God will guide you in the path you need to take. I believe in you ,
