Get your margaritas ready!
April 16th marks the first ever [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jimmy Buffett[/lastfm] Day!
Even though the holiday is officially in Florida, who am I to pass on putting some booze in a blender.
It’s also exciting for Parrot Heads, since it will be Jimmy’s first show back since New Zealand.
The Florida House of Representatives recently approved the resolution in appreciation for Buffett’s charitable efforts, support of the environment and positive economic impact in the state.
The resolution lists numerous activities and events including the opening of the first Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Store in Key West in 1985, the formation of the Save the Manatee Club in 1981.
Also listed was Jimmy’s 1995 tour which funded the Singing for Change Charitable Foundation and in 2004 he raised $3.4 million for hurricane victims with his Surviving the Storm Hurricane Relief Concert.
April 16th also marks Buffett’s first show since his tumble off stage in New Zealand.
He’ll be playing in Tampa on [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jimmy Buffett[/lastfm] Day.
