Turn Your House Into Your Child’s Art Gallery

Now that school is back in session, it’s time for the refrigerators to start becoming crowded with all the art work your kids are bringing home from school. Rather than buying a bigger fridge, there are some neat ways to hang on to your child’s priceless paintings.

If you home has a ledge where you can put photo frames, place your child’s art in a place of honor on the ledge. It will make your child feel special to have their work frame and so prominently displayed. You can also rotate the frames out as new art work comes home from school.

You can also string a clothes line somewhere in your house, like across a window in front of the curtains. Your child can use those old, wooden clothes pins to hang their artwork up.

In this digital age, you can scan your kid’s works of art. Save it on the computer, post it to a web gallery, or create a digital scrapbook or slideshow. The opportunities are endless.

A great way to store all those wonderful drawings and paintings is to keep them in poster mailing tubes. Just pick up a few tubes from the post office or shipping supply store, roll up the art, and mark the tube with your child’s name, age, grade, etc. This is great way to keep those larger pieces like the full body tracing on butchers paper.

Or you can do what this mom did and turn your child’s artwork into neat notecards.
