Sneezing With Courtesy This Allergy Season

The winds are blowing and Fall is settling in here in North Texas. It’s not uncommon to hear sneezes, sniffles, and coughs from ourselves or those around us. Take a look at some tips to keep your sniffles to yourself.

Should you find yourself about to sneeze or cough without a tissue or napkin to cover your nose and mouth in reach, then you should cover your face with the crook of your elbow. Never cover your face with your hands as you can easily spread germs and disease with your hands. Using your elbow keeps the germs off your hands.

Don’t touch your face. Again, your hands are the biggest instrument in spreading germs. Your cold could be transferred from your face to a door knob, and vice versa.

Wash your hands often. Experts say you should wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. How long is 20 seconds? It’s the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday or the ABCs.

It’s always a good idea to carry around a little package of tissues and hand sanitizer, just in case.
