Alarm clock set? Check. Water? Check. Snacks? Check. Are you ready for Black Friday? Before you set out to hit the midnight sales for Black Friday, CNBC found some awesome free apps that could give you an edge on Black Friday deals and fighting the maddening crowds.
Get the low down on the best prices for the items you’re looking for. “Price Check” by Amazon.com lets you look up and compare prices for items. You can search by snapping a picture, scanning the barcode, speaking the name of the item, or by typing it in the search blank. “Price Check” is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry.
Along the same lines as “Price Check” is “ShopSavvy.” Compare and shop items online and in nearby stores by scanning the barcode of the product or typing the name of the product in the search blank. It also searches for nearby deals based on your location. “ShopSavvy” will give you an edge on your iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone.
Keep track of your spending and receipts with “Lemon.” Take a picture of your receipts, and “Lemon” will read the receipt and make a log entry with the date, business, and how much you spent. It’ll also create a bar graph expense report so you can make sure you don’t blow your holiday budget. You can pick up “Lemon” for your iPhone or Android.
While you’re out and about, you’ll want to make sure that you have plenty of gas to get from store to store. “Gas Buddy” is a great app to help you find the best prices for gas in your area. It uses information submitted by other users as they gas up. If they find a great price for gas, they post it to “Gas Buddy,” and you reap the benefits. “Gas Buddy” is available on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry.
These great apps are only the tip of the iceberg. CNBC has these and many more apps to load on your phone for your Christmas shopping arsenal.
