Southern cooking queen Paula Deen revealed back in January that she has Type 2 Diabetes. Now, the Food Network star who’s made a living on lots of butter has reportedly dropped 30 pounds!
A diagnosis like diabetes is enough to made one seriously reconsider certain eating habits, and that is just what Deen has done. She’s made changes to her diet that are way healthier than the fried chicken and meat loafs that have made her famous.
“I do think differently now [about food],” Deen told People. “I’m more aware.”
Her diet now consists of a more Mediterranean fish and salad diet. It’s definitely lower in sodium, sugar, and fat.
“It took me a couple of years to get to this point,” Deen added. “If you make a few small changes, they can add up to big results.”
