Got milk? One Granbury woman has plenty.

CBS DFW is reporting Alicia Richman is the new Guinness World Record holder for the “Most Breast Milk Donated.” The 28-year-old mother has donated 11,115 ounces, or 694 pounds of breast milk to charity. That’s about 87 gallons.

The mother of one told CBS DFW that after she gave birth last march she began to pump and store her milk. It didn’t take her long to realize that she was producing much more milk than her son could drink. “I pumped at work, on vacations, in the car. And I never had to buy formula,” Richman said.

After filling two freezers with milk, Richman decided to help a good cause. She got in contact with the Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas, a nonporfit group that collects breast milk for critically ill and premature infants in need.

Her donations have fed “hundreds, and more likely, thousands of premature babies across the United States,” Amy Vickers, executive director of the milk bank, says in a press release.

Richman has said she went to Guinness not for self promotion, but she wanted to raise awareness to the cause. “Three ounces of donor human milk could be as much as nine feedings for a premature baby,” Vickers explained.
