It’s been a long journey from the first Twilight film to this moment. Four years and four films later, we have finally arrived at the conclusion of Bella & Edward’s story… at least as far as the novels by Stephanie Meyer are concerned.

The Twlight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 ended with Bella opening her red eyes as a newborn vampire; Breaking Dawn – Part 2 picks up right where we left off with Bella getting comfortable in her new vampire body. She astonishes everyone as she comes into her new life as naturally as if she was always meant to be a vampire. Bella and Edward can finally be together forever, and gone is the worry that Edward would end up hurting Bella. There is also their daughter Renesmee who is much more than meets the eye as a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. Her rapid growth and special talent raise questions and eventually bring the Volturi knocking on the Cullens’ door. The Cullens bring together their vampire allies from across the globe to make a stand against the Volturi.

Book-loving Twi-Hards and even those who have only seen the movies will agree that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is the best film in the entire Twilight Saga. If the other films felt like they were holding back a bit, this one doesn’t pull punches and goes full force. The cast expands to bring in new colorful characters in the form of the Cullen’s allies. Their color brings an added dimension to the cast we’ve become so familiar with.

If you’ve heard rumors of a twist, here comes the warning: Don’t seek out spoilers, plug your ears and sing “la-la-la-la” if your friends start talking about it, and if you know, keep quiet!! The genuine surprise is worth not finding out beforehand.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is everything you could have hoped for and more. Fans will not be disappointed. Our very own movie maven Julie Fisk gave it an A- in her review. Hear what she told Gene & Julie:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 runs just shy of 2 hours and is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence including disturbing images, some sensuality and partial nudity. It was nearly rated R for scenes of vampire beheadings, so parents might want to take precaution before taking young ones to see this movie.
