One of many favorite holiday traditions in Dallas is ice skating around the giant Christmas tree at the Galleria. It’s the largest indoor Christmas tree in the nation, AND the Galleria’s Christmas tree is bigger than the tree in Rockefeller Center in New York City!
Bring out the family to the Galleria for ice skating and Christmas fun and stay for a special show. Saturday’s at the Galleria are full of festive fun for the holidays! Starting at 5PM Saturdays leading up to Christmas, the Galleria presents the Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration.
The Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration features figure skating performances by Olympic and National skating champions, and every performance is highlighted with an appearance by Missile Toes, the back-flipping, pyrotechnic Santa Claus. Missile Toes gets his name from the fireworks and sparks that shoot out of his ice skates.
This FREE event is something you don’t want to miss! Make sure you get there to get a good viewing spot from any one of the balcony levels overlooking the Galleria’s center court skating rink. The Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration starts at 5PM and will be held this Saturday, December 15th and Saturday, December 22nd. The 22nd will be the final performance before Christmas, because Santa has to rocket back to the North Pole to prepare for his big night!
