It’s Christmas Eve, and we all know that Santa Claus has already started his big run delivering presents to boys and girls around the world.

We’ve still got a few hours before Santa and his reindeer enter North Texas air space, but you can keep track of Santa’s progress throughout the day and evening with NORAD. North American Aerospace Defense Command has already set its sights on Santa’s sleigh and will keep track of his progress on its website,

It’s a tradition that started in 1955 when an advertisement accidentally listed the phone number to the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Commander-In-Chief’s operations hotline. As calls flooded in,  Director of Operations Colonel Harry Shoup instructed his staff to give updates on Santa’s location to kinds calling in. A tradition was born, and NORAD continues to track Santa on his annual toy run each year.

Check into to see Santa’s location on a map and watch videos of his flights over cities. You can also keep an eye on Santa’s location via Twitter at @NoradSanta.
