We all have those terms and vocabulary that we toss around the office. It could describe coworkers, items, or activities. Here are a few that you may not know but you know a great example of.

Deceptionist – A receptionist highly-skilled at deflecting visitors rather than putting them in touch with who they need to speak to.

Dining al Desco – Eating a meal at your desk so that you can keep working.

O’Dark Thirty – Come from military time (like the movie “Zero Dark Thirty”). For us normal folks, it’s just way too early in the morning.

E-Hole – Someone who brings up issues via passive-aggressive emails.

Blamestorming – Meeting to discuss a failure and dissolves into a witch-hunt for a scapegoat.

Bacon Job – The job everyone wants.

Faker’s Dozen – The person who calls in sick to work 13 times in a quarter.

Mucus Trooper – The person who comes to work even though they are sick as a dog, coughing, sneezing, wheezing, and infecting everyone else in the office.

Jargonaut – The person who is a veritable dictionary of corporate slang, and the person who will have this list memorized by the end of the day.
