Texas Native George Jones Dies At 81

Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones passed away Friday, April 26th at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn at the age of 81.

Jones passed after being admitted to the hospital six days ago with irregular blood pressure and a high fever.

Jones was a pioneer in country music with hits like “She Thinks I Still Care”, “Tender Years” and “He stopped Loving Her Today.”

His first number one hit came in 1959 with “White Lightning”. A native Texan, Jones battled personal demons throughout his career. Jones is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Jones and his children, and grandchildren.
