In-flight entertainment is one of the things that helps the time fly while on long flights. Perhaps it’s a chance to catch a movie that you didn’t see in theaters or a favorite you’re happy to see again. However, you’ve got to wonder if it’s a good idea to show a movie about planes crashing while you’re on an airplane.

Passengers flying on Quantas might be in for a shock when they discover that the in-flight movie is the Denzel Washington air disaster flick “Flight,” according to Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald. While it’s undoubtedly a good movie to watch any other time, nervous fliers might want to load up their tablet computers with something a little less scary to watch while flying.

There are more than a few airplane movies that could make even the most seasoned frequent flier a bit nervous after watching. Here are 5 movies that airlines should probably knock off their in-flight entertainment list.

Of course, we’ll start with Quantas Airlines’ recent addition to their movie list, “Flight” starring Denzel Washington as a pilot who crash lands a plane under extraordinary circumstances.

“Flight Plan” starring Jodie Foster is about a mother whose daughter goes missing I-flight on a new 2-story airplane, however the flight crew try to convince her that her daughter was never a passenger on the plane.

“Snakes on a Plane” is the scary movie starring Samuel L. Jackson, and he’s really tired of these flipping snakes on a flipping plane.

“Red Eye” is more of a subtle in-flight terror movie. Rachel McAdams is secretly held hostage on a crowded red-eye flight to Miami by a handsome stranger who threatens her father’s life if she doesn’t comply with his demands.

“Cast Away” might not totally be about terror in the skies, but the crashing plane early in the movie might give you pause on a long overseas flight.
