Huffington Post reports that new royal parents Prince William and Kate have officially “registered” the birth of their son, Prince George, this morning. They filled out the birth certificate information at Kensington Palace in the presence of an official registrar.┬áThe paperwork might be familiar, but it’s interesting to see what a member of the Royal Family puts in the blanks.

Where we have one or two names in addition to our surname, members of the British Royal Family have three or four names in addition to titles and stylings. Under name and surname for his son, the Prince William wrote “His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.” Under father’s name, William put his full title and names “His Royal Highness William Arthur Philip Louis Duke of Cambridge.” We may still call her Kate Middleton, but on Prince George’s birth certificate, Kate’s full name is written “Catherine Elizabeth Her Royal Highness Duchess of Cambridge.”

More interesting to see is what was put down as the occupations of Prince William and his wife Kate. Their jobs are listed as “Prince of the United Kingdom” and “Princess of the United Kingdom.”

Here is a close up view of the actual birth certificate for Prince George.
