Texas Theatre To Screen Documentary On MLK

The historic Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff is having a special screening of a documentary on civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and his “I Have A Dream” speech.

King: A Filmed Record… Montgomery To Memphis is a documentary shown in 1970 that won the Oscar for Best Documentary. It features tons of newsreel material. It’s narrated by legends such as Harry Belafonte, Ruby Dee, Charleston Heston, and Paul Newman.

The screening is Wednesday night at 7PM at the historic Texas Theatre, 231 W Jefferson Blvd in Dallas. Tickets are $11 and can be purchased at the door or online through TheTexasTheatre.com.
