Pet lover Tony has to commend Julie on a heroic moment she had yesterday.

Julie was leaving her local gym and was driving down a busy road when she noticed a little white fluffy dog on the corner. It definitely looked like it was an inside dog that didn’t really know what to do with its new-found freedom. Julie was afraid the obviously lost and confused dog would step out into traffic, so she stopped her car and got out to walk towards the little dog.

About that same time, a woman came running up to the little dog. As it turns out, she is the little dog’s owner and had been frantically searching for her dog that had wandered away from their home. The little dog was very happy to see the woman, and Julie felt good for helping out.

Tony commended Julie for doing what most people don’t, she stopped to help. Even if you can’t stop, if you see a lost dog, you should call someone like animal control or a local shelter that can come out to get the dog and hold it for it’s owner.

Julie’s neighborhood seems to be a place where a lot of lost dogs end up. She remembers seeing a Lost Dog flyer for a dachshund and then seeing that little dog running around her neighborhood. She called the number on the flyer to let the owner know where she’d spotted the dog. The elusive little dachshund ran circles around the block 10 times and it took Julie, the owner, and 10 different neighbors to finally catch the dog.

Tony’s Cooper used to think getting out was a game. Cooper would take off running and not stop for anything, and Tony would have to get in his car to chase her. He’d have to pulled about 50 yards ahead of Cooper with the backgate of the SUV down and a bag of treats and tell Cooper, “Come on! Let’s go byebye!” That was the only way he could get Cooper to stop, otherwise she would keep running like a thoroughbred.
