Things You Shouldn’t Say After 30

We’ve all seen the Sprint commercials with actors James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell reading from phone calls, Facebook, and text conversations, especially this one in which both say, “Totes Magotes.” It epitomizes just how ridiculous adults look trying to talk like teenagers who can’t seem to even complete a word.

Huff Post recently posted an article of words and phrases that should be stricken from the vocabulary of anyone over 30. We’d even go so far as to say that no one should be allowed to utter these phrases this year; they are so 2013.

Here are the words and phrases you should stop saying according to Huff Post:

  1. Totes/Totes Magotes.
  2. I know, right?!
  3. Amazeballs/Amazing.
  4. Cray/Cray-Cray
  5. I will cut you!
  6. Adorbs.
  7. Feels/Oh the feels!/Right in the feels!

We decided we should add to this list. Here is what we came up with:

  1. Just saying.
  2. Nice.
  3. YOLO.

One brilliant listener suggested that when someone says YOLO that we respond with “You Obviously Lack Originality.” Ouch.
