ABBA’s Outfits Were Actually A Tax Dodge

Apparently the ridiculous outfits ABBA wore in it’s hay day had nothing to do with the band standing out but in fact was a way to save on taxes.

The Guardian is reporting that the band’s fashion decision had to do with Swedish tax code.

The law allowed the cost of costumes to be deducted against tax, as long as the outfits were so outrageous they could not be worn on the street.

“In my honest opinion we looked like nuts in those years. Nobody can have been as badly dressed on stage as we were,” said Bj√∂rn Ulvaeus in his new book.
