‘Game Of Thrones’ Premiere Highest Ratings On HBO Since 2007

If you’re not watching ‘Game Of Thrones’ you’re in the minority. The Sunday night premiere of  season four was the most watched show on HBO since the 2007 series finale of ‘The Sopranos’

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that 6.6 million people tuned in to watch the show live, and if you factor in the replays that number jumps to 8.2 million. The season three premiere of the show only had 4.4 million viewers.

The show also broke it’s own record viewership of 5.5 million viewers set last season.

Though the premiere didn’t go off without a hitch, just like the finale of ‘True Deceive’ last month, HBO GO, the network’s streaming platform, crashed during the premiere of the show.
