On Monday, a woman named Cheryl Treadway from Florida got into an argument with her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ethan Nickerson. It escalated to the point where he wouldn’t allow her nor her three children to leave the house. Nickerson pulled a knife out and held the family hostage.
Cheryl finally convinced Ethan to allow her to order pizza for her kids using the Pizza Hut app on her phone. While she was placing the order, she added a special message for the restaurant to “Please help. Get 911 to me.” The manager of that Pizza Hut location said,”I’ve been here 28 years and never seen nothing like that come through” so she alerted police.
When officers arrived, Cheryl and her children escaped. After a 20-minute negotiation, police arrested Ethan for aggravated assault with a weapon, battery, false imprisonment, and obstructing justice. So, make sure you download the Pizza Hut because you never know when you’ll need it!
