Canine Corner: Trixie- ADOPTED

UPDATE: Thank you so much to our listeners who shared Trixie’s story, she now has a new home! Here’s what the folks at Legacy Humane Society said about her:
“This sweet girl went from ZERO applications in over a year to THREE applications within a few DAYS after you promoted her!   This little senior hit the JACKPOT with her adoptive family.  She will now accompany her family to their private medical practice every day and will enjoy traveling in an RV to their three ranches and numerous lake properties!  It doesn’t get any better than this.  We cannot thank you enough in helping this deserving girl. Now she has a fairy tale ending… complete with four kiddos to love on her!”
A special thank you to our 1037 listeners Melissa and Mark Kuper of Benbrook, TX who adopted Trixie. They said, “She is the best dog ever! Everyone falls in love with her. She doesn’t even blink an eye at the cat. She wants to be everyone’s best friend. Just a sweetheart 💕💕💕

Trixie was surrendered to a local shelter when her family could no longer care for her.  After staying for a while, Trixie became so depressed that she stayed in the back of her dog run and would no longer engage with the staff.  A wonderful LHS foster parent took Trixie home where she has been patiently waiting for her fur-ever home for over a year.
Trixie is about 7-8 yrs old and weighs 12 lbs.  She is also crate-trained and house-trained, but is such a little lady she is allowed to roam freely in the house while her foster family is away. She LOVES to cuddle and take naps or lie quietly in her bed while her mom cooks. She does great with other doggies and would likely do well with cats. Given her small size, she would do best in a home with older, considerate kids.  She is spayed, heartworm-negative, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.
Trixie is such a special girl and has been in their program for A YEAR without a single application.  How can that be?!  To meet this darling girl, please complete an online application:
